This 100% Grenache Blanc was the surprise of our tasting with winemaker Shane Finley. He makes about 200 cases of this from fruit purchased from Fess Parker and then ferments and ages it in neutral wood for 5 months before bottling. By blocking malolactic fermentation, Shane retained bright, juicy, acidity to play against the rich mouthfeel. His release notes are spot on:
"Exotic aromatics highlight the pale straw-colored wine. Mandarin, peach, pineapple, Meyer lemon, and honeysuckle flow freely. Tropical accents continue to intermingle with tangerine, beeswax, melon, and seashells. The focused and expansive mouth feel exudes clean and focused acidity. There is a distinctive mineral finish and lingering hints of papaya and orange peel."
