Vintage 2009

The relatively large crop in the warm 2009 vintage gave Ken Wright the opportunity to create a classic Oregon Pinot Noir that’s more approachable (and delicious!) young than are his benchmark single-vineyard wines.  This is the first time since 1997 that Ken has bottled a Willamette Valley cuvee and the first time ever he’s blended a wine from his top single-vineyard sites.  It’s a blend of barrels from nine different vineyards, each selected for its open texture and soft, easy-going, tannins.

While you can certainly enjoy this as a sipping wine, it will really sing with a simple roasted or grilled chicken, lighter pork dishes, and salmon.  Of course, at this price you can even pop a bottle to pair with delivery pizza if you want!

"Light and satiny, with modest tannins around a delicate core of cherry, raspberry and coffee flavors, fleshing out more on the long finish. Drink now through 2017."Wine Spectator 90 points
