If you think you know Pinot Gris, you’ve simply got to try what is one of the best expressions of this grape I know. From old vines in Clos des Capucins harvested in late Autumn after botrytis was allowed to develop. There’s a little residual sugar in the wine, but so much acidity and mineral character that you don’t feel it. Loads of white peach, lemon zest, tangerine and smoke notes with a touch of of lanolin and white pepper beneath. Great wine for mushroom dishes or cream sauces.
