The benchmark in big, rich, Valpolicella Ripasso - a wine where Valpolicella juice has been soaked and undergone a second fermentation with the dried grape lees used for Amarone. Zenato's version ages in oak barrels to gain a little more depth, perfume, and softness. You'll find rich, layered, flavors of black cherry and dried cherry, plum, and raisin plus notes of dark chocolate and fresh espresso, all supported by bright acidity and ripe tannins. A big wine for big food and a fine value for the quality.
