- Recanati Chardonnay Galilee 2011 Product #27004 (In Stock)
-
-
Proof that "Kosher" and "Delicious" aren't contradictions at all! This is a classic Chardonnay that straddles New World and Old World styles with a creamy texture, ripe orchard fruit and pineapple, and just the right touch of spicy oak and fresh butter on the end. From a prime vineyard in northern Galilee, it's Kosher for Passover, but more than delicious enough to enjoy all year long.
- Reina De Castilla Sauvignon Blanc 2011 Product #26948 (In Stock)
-
-
This lovely Spanish Sauvignon Blanc bursts from the glass with bold aromas of peach, apricot, passion fruit, and mango. In the mouth, it's at once bright and round and packed with orchard fruit, citrus, and green pineapple fruit and just the right dash of herb. Showy, but easygoing and very sippable, there's enough fruit here for New Zealand SB fans in a more relaxed, easy, package.
- Henri Bourgeois Sauvignon Petit Bourgeois 2011 Product #26227 (In Stock)

Basically a “baby Sancerre”, this exciting young Sauvignon Blanc is grown on the same chalky slate soils you’ll find across Sancerre from 10-40 year-old vines, fermented in stainless steel and allowed to rest 3 months on the fine lees. The vineyard is located just outside the legal boundary of Sancerre, but the flavors make you feel right in the middle!
Generous, fresh, aromas of fresh flowers, just cut grass, white grapefruit, and a hint of wet stones burst from the glass. Then in your mouth this crisp, lithe, wine fairly vibrates with more citrus and green apple fruit, tangy gooseberry, and fresh grass. The acidity is refreshing, if a touch softer than last year, and the fruit flavors are juicy and bright. Served cold, it’s thirst quenching and refreshing. Let it warm up a touch and it’s layered, complex, and a fantastic match for seafood, fresh vegetables, and – of course – goat cheese. - Santa Barbara Verdicchio 2011 Product #25910 (In Stock)
-
-
Santa Barbara's entry-level Verdicchio has been a favorite at the store for years. For the second year in a row, this vintage sees a bit of a step up from what was already a rock-solid white. You'll find a lovely melange of dried lemon, pink grapefruit, mineral and a touch of dried herb here in a fairly full-bodied take on Verdicchio. It's at once round/fruity and juicy/crisp.

-
In the intense 2012 vintage, this is the best release yet from young winemaker Paul Direder. A golden straw color with delightful aromas of stone fruits and spice. Jam-packed with extract and flavor kept fresh by vibrant, intense, minerality and acids. Crazy value at $10.99 - especially in a one liter bottle that's big enough to share at a party!
- Ch De La Vieille Tour Bordeaux Blanc 2011 Product #27193 (In Stock)

Here's a round and creamy Bordeaux blanc with a very sophisticated texture and plenty of creamy fruit. Clean and bright from first sip to last with apple and stone fruit and a bit of chalk. - Dr Loosen Dr L Riesling 2011 Product #26329 (In Stock)
-
-
Another fine vintage for one of Germany's best value - and most consistent - entry-level Rieslings. As usual, rich and creamy with bright acidity underneath and plenty of apricot and fresh peach aromas and flavors. Rich but not heavy and very easy to drink.
- Dom La Bastide Viognier 2011 Product #26618 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's an unexpected Viognier value from a small Cotes du Rhone grower located near Corbieres. All the aromatics and flavor you'd expect from fine Viognier - honeysuckle, fresh flowers, peaches, apricots and tropical fruits - in a clean, dry, package. A note of fresh cream and spice shows up in the middle and juicy acidity keeps things fresh on the pretty finish. There's good minerality here with the fine ripeness, but - at 12.5% ABV - no heaviness at all.
- Anton Bauer Gruner Veltliner Gmork 2012 Product #27146 (In Stock)
-
-
If you thought the Washington Post 3-Star 2011 Gmork was good...well, just try the 2012 and you'll be blown away! Once again, a terrific value in a single-vineyard Gruner made by one of Austria's top winemakers, Tony Bauer. Aromas of wet limestone, apple skin and white flowers emerge from the glass. In the mouth, the wine bursts with gravelly apple and green peach fruit, loads of citrusy acidity and sweet white flowers. A touch of white pepper emerges on the long, juicy, finish. Just as fresh and mouthwateringly delicious as the 2011, but even richer, deeper, and more powerful. A great wine to enjoy on its own or with seafood, salads, and lighter fare. Just delicious!
- Palazzone Dubini Bianco 2012 Product #27237 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a stunning value for anyone who loves Italian white wines - or just wants a juicy, crisp, and really tasting white wine at a great price. The wine is made by Palazzone, the estate Steve Tanzer called, "“Unquestionably the number one small estate of Orvieto.” Made from the younger vines that would otherwise goin into the estate's Orvieto, this is a beautiful, lively white from Umbria. Green apple, lime and watermelon flavours with a zesty mid palate. Great on its own, with salads or fish.
- La Formica Soave DOCG 2011 Product #26771 (In Stock)
-
-
We (and many of you) loved the 2010 La Formica Soave for its marriage of rich texture and bright, refreshing, acids. The 2011 is at once richer than the 2010 – even more mouthfilling and round – and more fresh and vibrant. Once again, it’s 100% estate-grown Garganega, Soave’s best grape, hand harvested and vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel (no oak to mask the flavors).
The color is classic Soave – golden yellow – as are the generous aromas of almonds, lemon zest, white flowers, apricot, and dash of fresh ginger. In the mouth, there’s the fantastic yin/yang of richness and zing that makes Soave so captivating. The texture is silky and round and coats your mouth completely, but the flavors are bright and fresh – Myer lemon, lime zest, tangy apricot, yellow apple and golden pear fruit with just a touch of honeysuckle and fresh almond. The citrusy acidity scrubs your palate clean as the boisterous fruit and honesuckle flavors go on and on. Excellent to sip on its own and a lovely match for simple chicken, freshwater fish, or crunch vegetable dishes. - Egret Chardonnay California 2011 Product #26883 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a versatile and delicious California Chardonnay built to satisfy a crowd - and you! Ripe, creamy, and fresh, the aromas and flavors feature juicy apple, pineapple, peach, citrus, and salty caramel. Mostly made in stainless steel for brightness and fruit, the 15% aged in oak delivers just a hint of smoke to complement the buttery notes on the back. Lots of lees stirring gives it a creamy, round, mouthfeel and the juicy apple and sweet butter caramel flavors linger nicely on the fresh finish. A fine party or everyday Chardonnay and outstanding value.
- Chapoutier Bila Haut Cotes Du Roussillon Blanc 2012 Product #27053 (In Stock)
-
-
Better than the 88 point 2011 or even the 90 point 2010, this blend of tank-raised Grenache Blanc, Macabeu, and Grenache Gris is complex and floral but still nicely structured and fresh. Generous aromas of peach, apricot, honeysuckle, and pink grapefruit burst from the glass. The flavors follow in a richly textured, but mouthwatering, wine that rides a beam of salty, chalky, mineral through a long, generous, finish. As the Advocate said of the fine 2010, "What a fine introduction to Roussillon whites and terrifically versatile accompaniment at table this will make over the next 2-3 years if not beyond!"
- Kellerei Kaltern Caldaro Pinot Grigio 2012 Product #27296 (In Stock)
-
-
What a roll these guys are on! The past two vintages of this gutsy Pinot Grigio earned 90 points from Wine Enthusiast, bragging rights as the best <$20 Grigio we know of, and our Chain Bridge Cellars Selection sticker. The 2012? Better than ever!
Once again, it's a Pinot Grigio for folks who like actual flavor in their crisp, refreshing, whites. As in the past, lovely aromas and flavors of ripe pear, crisp apple, peach, and tangerine here with an extra layer of complexity from notes of melon, blanched almond, and a lovely floral element. A tad richer and fuller than in the past, but just as mouthwatering and salty-mineral on the juicy, fresh, finish. Just lovely, great value, stuff. - Ch De Chasseloir Muscadet Chereau Carre 2011 Product #26736 (In Stock)
-
-
One of Muscadet's oldest and best estates turned out a classic wine in the fine 2011 Loire vintage. Aromas of sea shell, lime skin, and a hint of bready lees carry through on the bright, energetic, palate. A fine mouthwatering Muscadet that has enough buffering richness (from time on the lees) to enjoy on it's own as well as with the classic pairing of raw oysters.
- Clua Mas D'en Pol Blanca 2012 Product #27300 (In Stock)
-
-
Maybe it’s the great 2012 vintage (a winner in pretty much all of Europe), or perhaps it’s a little more rigorous vineyard work or a touch more sophistication in the blend. Or, it could just be that Xavier left Muscat out of the blend this year. Whatever the cause, this is far and away my favorite release of this sophisticated but crowd-pleasing white ever.
Xavier makes this from Grenache Blanc, Chardonnay and a dash of Sauvignon Blanc grown in the rocky, hard-to-work, vineyards of Terra Alta. Fermented cool in tank and bottled without ever touching a barrel, it delivers just the right balance of luscious nectarine and tangy pineapple fruit with hints of lemon grass and lime pith. Round, generous, and mouthfilling, the real excitement here is on the back palate and finish where a burst of selzer, chalk, and briny mineral emerges under the mouthwatering acidity. A refreshing white you’ll love sipping on the back deck with nibbles and enjoy even more with shellfish, sausage, or paella. Just a winner all around. - Steininger Gruner Veltliner "Classic" Kamptal 2011 Product #25825 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a wonderfully vibrant Gruner Veltliner that's full of fresh green pea, tangy apple, and white pepper aromas and flavors. Plenty of concentration here supported by tingly acidity and a long, mineral-driven, finish. It’s a “wow wine” at a silly price. You’d pay $25 or more for a wine of this quality from a bigger importer. Direct to us (and you!) from Klaus and it’s a steal!
- Dom Marc Portaz Vin De Savoie 2012 Product #27123 (In Stock)
-
-
Hard to find a more refreshing, bright, wine than this great white from Vin de Savoie in the foothills of the Alps. It is pale greenish straw in color, lively around the edges, and treads lightly on your senses. The aromas are citrusy, floral, and reminiscent of a mountain stream. 100% Jacquère.
- Efeste Sauvignon Blanc Sauvage 2011 Product #26805 (In Stock)
-
-
The round texture plus brilliant, crisp, acids and minerality make this a terrific all year ‘round Sauvignon Blanc!
"Bright yellow-green. Aromas of ripe apple, gooseberry and underripe pineapple; in a Sancerre style. Conveys a broader, softer, less minerally impression than the Feral bottling, but still has excellent energy for such a round style. If the Feral is summer sauvignon, this is for winter drinking."International Wine Cellar 91 points
