- Chabert Chardonnay Vin De Pays D'oc 2011 Product #25874 (In Stock)
-
-
Another fine vintage – that makes 3 out of 3! – for our best-selling Chardonnay ever! As in the past, this all stainless steel (no oak!) beauty comes from a pretty vineyard deep in the South of France. And, as in the past, you’ll find plenty of yellow apple and peach pit fruit flavors and aromas with accents of lemon zest, pear skin, and just a touch of chalky mineral. The wine is just a touch richer and rounder this year than last, with a note of candied pear in the middle and pretty peach blossom and golden apple on the soft, easy, finish. A wine sure to appeal to both "Old World" and "New World" palates, and a fantastic value.
- Ch Puy Servain Bergerac Rose 2012 Product #27062 (In Stock)
-
-
You'll find fine rosé in virtually every corner of France, including Bordeaux - after all, what else would the Bordalais want to drink after a hot day working in the vines? This beauty from the satellite appellation of Bergerac is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon bled off the vats used for red wine. Very fresh and winey on the nose with definite aromas of tobacco leaf, fresh herb, and tangy cherry. In the mouth the herb comes up strong and clear over the cherry and watermelon fruit and a bright beam of acidity cuts under the rich texture. Finishes spicy and mouthwatering with fine length and freshness.
- Ch Le Prieure St-laurent Bordeaux 375ml 2011 Product #26689 (In Stock)
-
-
No big name winemaker or famous vineyards here. Instead, just a tasty, juicy, mouthful of Bordeaux currant fruit with a whiff of fresh herb. Savory and satisfying and built to enjoy now on its own or with roasts or stews. Nice value.
- Guigal Cotes-du-Rhone 2009 375ml Product #25878 (In Stock)

"Vivid ruby. Complex aromas of red and dark berries, Indian spices and violet, with slow-building smokiness. Taut and focused on the palate, offering lively bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors that pick up weight with air. Juicy and nicely concentrated Cotes du Rhone with strong finishing punch and lingering spiciness."International Wine Cellar 90 points
"There are 3.5 million bottles of the 2009 Cotes du Rhone red, which represents an amazing value. A blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre, it comes primarily from the Plan de Dieu (Plain of God), which is situated northeast of Chateauneuf du Pape. This tank-aged, deep ruby/purple-colored, concentrated, fleshy, medium to full-bodied, supple offering reveals plenty of pepper, kirsch and black currant fruit intermixed with a notion of flowers. It is meant to be consumed during its first 2-3 years of life although I have tasted 10-year-old bottles that are still holding together."Wine Advocate 90 points
- Charles Thomas Cotes Du Rhone 2011 Product #26968 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a terrific everyday red for parties, weeknight suppers, or just sipping all by itself. Organically grown Syrah (50%), Grenache (40%) and Mourvedre (10%) fermented and aged in tank give a round and easy-going wine you'll enjoy most anytime. The fruit is ripe and plummy with notes of red cherry and currant and just the right accents of dark chocolate and fresh earth. Enough acidity to keep things fresh, enough tannin to work with pretty much any food, and enough yumminess to keep you coming back for more!
- Ch Bellevue La Foret Rose 2011 Product #25726 (In Stock)
-
-
The newest vintage of our best-selling rose for the past two years is here. So, it's time to think pink! Down in AOC Fronton, just south of Bordeaux, the main grape is the little known Negrette. It turns out that Negrette makes a darn tasy rose! Strawberry and black cherry fruit mingle with flavors of dark flowers and wet granite. Energetic and dry, this is just about the perfect summer sipper and surprisingly versatile with food.
- Villa Dria Gascogne Blanc Colombard Sauvignon 2011 Product #26047 (In Stock)
-
-
The motto here is “Gascony seen by a feminine point of view.” Other than the fact that the estate is led by women, I’m not sure what that really means, but this is a heck of a delicious white for summer sipping. The blend is 80% Colombard – the main white grape in Gascony – for bright acidity and round texture and 20% Sauvignon Blanc for a big burst of fruit and touch of fresh hay. The fruit flavors coat your palate with ripe green melon, golden apple, and orange/tangerine flavors set off by lemony acids, a dash of minerality, and a whiff of fresh cut grass. A great summer sipper that delivers Sauvignon Blanc-like flavors that have been softened and tamed by the Colombard. Yummy.
- Dom Vougeon Brouilly 2011 Product #26191 (In Stock)

Nicely ripe aromas of black cherry, crushed black raspberry, cocoa powder, licorice and nutmeg open the show and get darker and richer with a little air. In the mouth, it’s fresh and juicy with flavors of black cherry and strawberry/rubarb pie in the middle and notes of powdered baking chocolate, and tangy citrus skin underneath. Finishes with some nice and juicy dark berry fruit and just a hint of clove and citrusy acidity. Pretty yummy, actually, and even better with a light chill and a bite of grilled sausage (hot dogs, anyone?) or a burger. Kind of a silly wine, but an even sillier price!
"Ideal for burgers off the grill or other summery foods, this delightful Beaujolais cru is a terrific “bistro wine,” meaning a gulpable red by the glass or the bottle. It will fuel conversation, not dominate it. Better have a second bottle handy.” Dave McIntyre, The Washington Post
- Ch La Chapelle Du Couvent Blaye 2009 Product #26362 (In Stock)
-
-
From the sturdy wood case to the sophisticated label and sophisticated aromas and flavors, this is the kind of young Bordeaux you’d expect to cost $30 or more. Right out of the gate, classic Bordeaux aromas of blackcurrant, black raspberry, cedar and tobacco with just a hint of roasted coffee. Very polished and elegantly textured in the mouth where the blackcurrant fruit shines and accents of more cedar, coffee and bitter chocolate are lifted by sophisticated acidity. On the finish, the blackcurrant, tangy cherry and coffee flavors linger nicely as fine, polished, tannins provide support and a last whiff of uncured tobacco curls around at the end. If you enjoy just drinking fine Bordeaux by itself, this is a beauty – silky, perfumed, and subtle – but it will really shine with beef, lamb, or pork loin as well as earthy mushrooms with thyme.
- Ch De Paraza Minervois 2010 Product #26678 (In Stock)
-
-
Here's a robust blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre from the deep South French region of Minervois. In the excellent 2010 vintage, there's extra precision and clarity to the aromas and flavors of roasted cherries and raspberries with fine accents of resinous herbs and hot, smoky, stones. Fills up your mouth with fruit, earth, mineral, and tangy acidity and then leaves a wonderful, lingering, finish of herb and mineral and red fruit. Fantastic by itself and even better with grilled mushrooms, lamb, or pork.
- Cadastres Picpoul De Pinet 2011 Product #25970 (In Stock)
-
-
This 100% estate grown Picpoul de Pinet clearly demonstrates just how under-rated this variety is. You’ll find pretty aromas of white flowers, lemon/lime citrus, and anise/fennel notes to start. Then a crisp, minerally, texture with tart granny smith apple, green melon, and lemon/lime flavors and a clean, dry, finish. This is just a great all-around daily white, with enough flavor and body to shine by itself at a party and enough complexity and depth to pair well with freshwater fish and lighter poultry dishes. Tremendous value!
- Arnaud De Villeneuve Muscat Sec 2011 Product #26153 (In Stock)
-
-
If you think Muscat is just a grapey, often sweet, wine suitable for making into Moscato, well, think again! The 2011 Arnaud de Villeneuve Muscat Sec is a bone dry but wildly flamboyant wine from France’s Languedoc Roussillon region. Extravagant aromas of white grape, tropical flowers, ginger and spice burst out of the glass. In the mouth there’s an explosion of spiced citrus, apricot, ginger, and asian five spice flavors with a lovely honeysuckle note emerging in the mid-palate. The wine finishes dry and refreshing with chalky mineral and gingery lime lingering nicely. Yes, this will be fantastic with Asian dishes but it’s so much fun that you’ll need to keep plenty on hand to drink on its own as well. And, a great value to boot!
- Val De Salis Viognier 2011 Product #26790 (In Stock)
-
-
The kind of wine that we hope for out of the South of France - a delicious value that way over-delivers on its modest price. Here's a ripe, friendly, bottle of Viognier that delivers straight ahead peach, orange and honeysuckle aromas and flavors, a creamy texture, and just a dash of mineral on the finish. A nice interplay between sweet, ripe, fruit and tangy acid at the end. To sip or enjoy with salads and lighter dishes.
- Ch La Roche St. Jean Blanc 2012 Product #26989 (In Stock)
-
-
Another terrific release of our best-selling Bordeaux Blanc ever! A difficult vintage for reds, but just about perfect for whites, the 2012 harks back to 2009's richness and breadth. Aromas and flavors of white pineapple, honeysuckle, and orange zest in a round, wide-open, Sauvignon Blanc that finishes with a squirt of white grapefruit acid and a pleasant touch of citrus pith. The richness and round texture would make you think there's Semillon in there somewhere, but it's just 100% Sauvignon Blanc harvested at perfect ripeness. A great all-purpose white for parties, salads, fish, or just sipping on a warm afternoon.
- Champteloup Rose d'Anjou 2012 Product #27061 (In Stock)
-
-
While we in the USA tend to focus on rosé from the South of France, in Paris pink wine from Anjou in the nearby Loire Valley gets plenty of attention. And, this is classic Parisian bistro rosé, made from from 70% Grolleau for fruit and 30% Cabernet Franc for herbal notes and spice. Gentle aromas of cherry, strawberry, and crushed fresh herb lead to a juicy, fruity, mouthful of red berry fruit and a bit more herb. A hint of watermelon candy comes up in the middle and the finish is frankly fruity and round, but dry and clean. Cherry and watermelon Jolly Rancher notes linger on. A fun wine to just sip on it's own and a great match for Asian dishes or anything with fruit.
- Famille Perrin Luberon Blanc 2012 Product #27114 (In Stock)
-
-
A delightful blend of classic Southern Rhone white grapes - Bourboulenc , Grenache, Roussanne, and Ugni Blanc – from the family behind Ch Beaucastel. Fresh, clean, aromas of honeysuckle, apple and pineapple lead to a round, easy-going, mouthful of tropical fruit. Citrusy acidity keeps everything in balance and light and a pleasing bitter mineral note emerges on the end. Very tasty stuff!
- Henri Bourgeois Sauvignon Petit Bourgeois 2011 Product #26227 (In Stock)
-
-
Basically a “baby Sancerre”, this exciting young Sauvignon Blanc is grown on the same chalky slate soils you’ll find across Sancerre from 10-40 year-old vines, fermented in stainless steel and allowed to rest 3 months on the fine lees. The vineyard is located just outside the legal boundary of Sancerre, but the flavors make you feel right in the middle!
Generous, fresh, aromas of fresh flowers, just cut grass, white grapefruit, and a hint of wet stones burst from the glass. Then in your mouth this crisp, lithe, wine fairly vibrates with more citrus and green apple fruit, tangy gooseberry, and fresh grass. The acidity is refreshing, if a touch softer than last year, and the fruit flavors are juicy and bright. Served cold, it’s thirst quenching and refreshing. Let it warm up a touch and it’s layered, complex, and a fantastic match for seafood, fresh vegetables, and – of course – goat cheese. - Ch La Roche St. Jean Bordeaux Rouge 2011 Product #26807 (In Stock)
-
-
A classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). This is a soft, fruit filled, take on Bordeaux that fills your mouth with juicy red currant and black berry fruit accented by a touch of spice. Subtle notes of fresh herb and tobacco keep this anchored in Bordeaux, and there’s just the enough ripe tannin to let it work well at table (but not enough to get in the way of solo sipping).
- Ch Sainte Eulalie Rose Minervois 2012 Product #27059 (In Stock)
-
-
From an estate first planted in the 19th century and then resurrected by young Isabelle & Laurent Causta in 1996, this beauty fully captures the potential of what should be Provence's top rose region. From vineyards in the heart of Minervois, this blend of Syrah and Cinsault with dashes of Carignan and Grenache is plenty gutsy but also crisp and fresh. Vivid strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry fruit with a clear whiff of fresh herb and lingering, juicy, dry, finish. Great wine for roast chicken, salads, or cold meats.
- Dom La Bastide Viognier 2011 Product #26618 (In Stock)

Here's an unexpected Viognier value from a small Cotes du Rhone grower located near Corbieres. All the aromatics and flavor you'd expect from fine Viognier - honeysuckle, fresh flowers, peaches, apricots and tropical fruits - in a clean, dry, package. A note of fresh cream and spice shows up in the middle and juicy acidity keeps things fresh on the pretty finish. There's good minerality here with the fine ripeness, but - at 12.5% ABV - no heaviness at all.
